Dialed In Fall 2017
A big thank you to the 31 club leaders from 13 countries who joined our fall club call day on October 27th! If you weren’t able to join, feel free to catch up on best practices for recruiting, motivating, and stewarding volunteers from our discussion highlights below.
- Utilize tools available on the Wharton Officers website and NationBuilder platform:
- Recruiting
- Create a vertical network that focuses on using personal interests to recruit members to specific committees, like the Wharton Club of the United Kingdom.
- Use the Wharton Club of New Jersey as an example and announce open volunteer positions at the beginning of events.
- Motivating
- Match volunteer interests with tasks, like the Wharton Club of Southern California.
- Create a mentoring program like the Wharton Club of Chicago and pair members who are looking for more 1:1 relationship building.
- Stewarding
- Create a comprehensive succession plan like the Wharton Club of Dallas-Fort Worth where emeritus volunteers are recognized and valued, and continuity of Club relationships is stressed.
- Plan events around thanking volunteers, such as the Wharton Club of New York’s Joseph Wharton Awards Dinner.
